Definition

Facial contouring and jawline definition – what changes.

Surgical contouring removes or repositions tissue. Filler adds volume to change an outline. Neither is what we do. Face contouring at Face and Body Perfection is structural work on the tissue you already have: clearing fluid load, mobilizing the fascia, and improving the quality of the skin that sits over it.

Nothing is injected and nothing is removed. The change comes from the tissue reorganizing, which is why it builds gradually and why it depends on how the tissue starts. Facial contouring and jawline contouring are among the most searched non-invasive face treatments in the Bay Area – and among the least served by device-based studios. Read how the same principle applies to the body on the body sculpting page, or start with facial lymphatic drainage if puffiness is your main concern.

Area focus

Jawline and under-chin.

The jaw line and the area under the chin are where fluid, laxity, and fascial density overlap most closely. As drainage improves, the outline of the jaw becomes visible again. As the tissue under the chin is worked, the skin there firms and the angle between neck and jaw reads more defined.

Drainage change is usually noticeable after the first session. Structural change generally becomes visible from session four to six onward, with a typical course of six sessions under forty and twelve over forty, run twice a week. Protocols are reviewed every four sessions. Individual results vary.

The device

ICOONE® – how it contours.

ICOONE works through Roboderm® multi-microalveolar stimulation. Hundreds of independent micro-cups engage the tissue thousands of times per minute, lifting and releasing in a pattern the hand cannot reproduce. On the face the handpiece is smaller and the parameters are calibrated for thinner skin.

The target is the microvacuolar network described in Jean-Claude Guimberteau’s intra-tissue endoscopy research: connective tissue is not layered sheets but a continuous fibrillar web that slides, stretches, and recovers. Contouring the face means restoring the mobility of that web. The published studies are listed on the ICOONE research page.

Questions

Common questions.

What is non-invasive face contouring?

Non-invasive face contouring changes the outline of the face by working the tissue itself rather than adding or removing anything. At Face and Body Perfection that means mechanical treatment of fluid load, fascial density, and skin quality with ICOONE®. Nothing is injected and nothing is removed.

What is facial contouring?

Facial contouring refers to treatments that improve the definition of the face – jawline, under-chin, cheekbone area – without surgery or injectables. At Face and Body Perfection, facial contouring and jawline contouring are delivered through ICOONE® Roboderm® technology, which works on the connective tissue beneath the skin to improve structural definition and reduce fluid load.

How is this different from Botox or filler for jawline definition?

Injectables change the outline by relaxing muscle or adding volume, and the effect fades as the product does. Mechanical contouring works on the structure underneath: drainage, connective tissue mobility, and skin firmness. It builds gradually and is maintained with periodic sessions rather than repeat injections.

Does face contouring work for the under-chin area?

Yes. The under-chin area is one of the main focuses, because fluid retention, skin laxity, and fascial density overlap there. As drainage improves and the tissue firms, the angle between the neck and the jaw reads more defined.

How many sessions does face contouring take?

A typical course is six sessions for face under forty and twelve for face over forty, run twice a week. Protocols are reviewed every four sessions and adjusted based on observed tissue response.

Can face contouring be combined with body treatment?

Yes. Face and body can be treated in the same appointment, usually two hours or more, or split across alternating visits depending on your goals and availability.
